about

The compositions on this album were recorded between 2016 and 2019 and are based on random generation of chords and harmonics, playing with silence and vast acoustic spaces. Some of my references were Larry Fast, "Computer Experiments", as well as some of Klaus Schulze's sounds in "Dune", or some of Brian Eno's ambient pieces, which also rely on random combinations.

"Music for Cathedrals" is an invitation to the contemplation of possible sound architectures, to the exploration of infinite acoustic spaces, animated by strange harmonic rebounds, between vaults and pillars, arches and ogives.

It is in this spirit that I dedicate this album to the great art historian Erwin Panofsky, who showed that cathedrals can think in his groundbreaking book, "Gothic Architecture and Scholasticism" (1951).
