This is the first opus of a new series of albums, "Sound Painting", inspired, once again, by the visual work of Thierry Moreau.

I would like to focus on sound design and the creation of minimalist climates, a bit abstract at times, but trying to give shapes and colors to sound objects evolving in a multidimensional acoustic space, as a painter does, wielding a brush and a color palette.

In music as in painting, gesture is important: it gives the rhythm, it opens perspectives, it sculpts and orientates shapes and objects.

"Sound Painting I" allows me to explore new directions and new compositional schemes, playing on the geometric recurrence of patterns as well as on the blending of sonic colors.

It is a music to visualize, to project on the screen of your imagination, just as the graphic creations of Thierry Moreau awaken multiple musical harmonics for the viewer.

Arguably,for “Sound Painting”, the simplest review I've done in ages.........
...as it's 41 minutes of pure, slowly unfolding, multi-layered, constantly travelling, cosmic synthesizer music, without a rhythm, tune or melody line in sight.
Occasionally a few light piano notes will add to the effect, and even a cello-like sound on “The Painter's Palette”, the nearest we get to anything rhythmic, but overall, it's a superb example of electronic space drift, sonically warm while at the same time, sparingly stark but blissfully riveting.
That's it.....you don't need any more.....but you do need this.....

As to “Frozen Lands”......well, more of the same.....although in many ways, quite different, as here, living up to its name, the soundscapes are altogether more abstract, not dissonant or awakward, but decidedly conjuring images of icy wastelands in a stripped down electronic drift, yet still managing to have a heart at the nucleus of it all.

In a world of synthesizer music, where there are many many artists and bands doing the whole cosmic space music thing......and you can have too much of a good thing, even in a genre such as this.....what I love about these is that the tracks are not overly lengthy, the ideas flow into one another, by and large, and it's varied enough to be riveting."
